Digital PR Agency
Digital Marketing Tribe earns the coverage, links and mentions that make a business the one Google ranks and the one ChatGPT and Gemini recommend. Data stories journalists can use, expert commentary through journalist request services, and placements on the supplier, industry and review sites AI assistants read and cite. Every placement recorded with its date, URL and link status, reported monthly. No lock-in contracts, everything in-house.

Digital PR is the work of getting your business talked about, and linked to, on sites other than your own: news and trade publications, industry bodies, suppliers and partners, review platforms, directories and the experts and journalists who cover your field. It has always mattered for Google, because links from trusted sites are still how Google decides which of two good pages ranks first. Since 2025 it has mattered twice over, because ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity decide who to recommend by what they can verify about you elsewhere. When we asked ChatGPT where to buy a genuine TRX in Australia this month, it named our client first and cited TRX's own partner page as the proof. When we asked Gemini for a Hills District functional medicine doctor, it answered with our client's Google reviews and profile. Neither answer came from the client's site alone.
Our approach is built around what earns a mention rather than what can be bought. Data stories from your own numbers, because journalists cannot resist a figure nobody else has. Expert commentary through journalist request services such as Sourcebottle, where a two-paragraph answer becomes a quote and a link on a publication you could not pitch cold. Reactive commentary when your sector is in the news. Supplier, partner, association and accreditation listings that already exist offline and only need asking for. And the review and directory presence that AI assistants weigh most. No paid link packages, no private blog networks, nothing you would not want listed in your report.
Everything is recorded: the pitch, the reply, the placement, the URL, the anchor, whether the link is followed and whether it is still live next month. We report the referring domains and Authority Score movement that follows, and now the AI citations too: which sources ChatGPT and Gemini cite when they name you, tested monthly from Australia. Digital PR runs inside our Full and Competitive SEO retainers and as a standalone program for businesses running SEO in-house.

The sources AI assistants cited when they named our clients
On 18 September 2026 we ran our clients' buying questions through ChatGPT and Gemini and looked at where each answer came from. ChatGPT named Suspension Exercise Australia first for a genuine TRX and cited two things: the store's own product page, and TRX Training's official partner listing, a third-party page that vouches for the store. Gemini named Dr Jaimini Raniga as the single answer for a Hills District functional medicine doctor and built the answer from her Google Business Profile rating, reviews and the condition pages on her site.
Asked whether a national appliance brand was any good, ChatGPT cited the brand's own warranty page for the facts and ProductReview.com.au for the verdict. That is the pattern across every prompt we tested: the business's own pages supply the facts, and third-party sites supply the trust. Digital PR is how you get onto the second list, and it is why our digital PR, review and citation work now runs as one program with our ChatGPT and Gemini optimisation.
- ChatGPT cited TRX Training's partner listing, not just the store, when naming Suspension Exercise first
- Gemini built its single-answer recommendation from Google reviews and the practice's condition pages
- For a brand-check prompt, ChatGPT took the facts from the brand and the verdict from ProductReview.com.au
- Supplier, partner, association and review placements are the mentions AI assistants weigh most
- Every placement we earn is logged with URL, date, anchor and link status, and re-checked monthly
Authority results from our retainers
Digital PR and link building run inside our SEO retainers. Every number is from a published case study or client report.
KPark, Adelaide
Referring domains from 35 to 62 and Authority Score from 11 to 27 alongside the content and technical work, with organic traffic up 87% and ranking keywords from 612 to 1,489.
Tom's Court Hotel, Adelaide
Ranking keywords from 395 to 974 and top-three positions from 13 to 35 in just over six months, the movement that comes once authority catches up with content. ChatGPT visits to the hotel site are up 138% in the last 90 days.
Transform Orthodontic Care
Top-100 keywords up 206% and organic traffic up 178% in six months, with a backlink outreach program the client's own team could see arriving in their inbox.
We will not show you coverage we did not earn. If you want a data-led campaign built around your own numbers, that is where we start.
Five ways we earn coverage and mentions
Six disciplines, delivered by our own team, priced by scope rather than by the hour.
Data-led stories
A figure from your own bookings, sales, enquiries or survey that nobody else has, turned into a short report, a chart and a pitch. Journalists cover numbers; AI assistants cite the pages that publish them.
Expert commentary and journalist requests
Sourcebottle and similar request services, plus direct pitches to the journalists covering your sector, with your people quoted as the expert. One good placement is worth fifty directory links.
Reactive commentary
When your industry is in the news, a same-day quote from a named person in your business, sent to the journalists already writing the story. Fast, cheap and often the placement that gets you into a national outlet.
Supplier, partner and industry placements
The stockist page on your supplier's site, the member listing at your association, the accreditation body's directory, the partner page of the platform you use. Mentions that already exist offline and that AI assistants treat as proof.
Reviews and directory presence
Google reviews, ProductReview, the trade and local directories Google cross-checks. For brand-check and recommendation prompts these decide the verdict, so they are managed as part of the program rather than left to chance.
Tracking and AI citation reporting
Every placement logged with URL, date, anchor and link status, re-checked monthly, with referring domains, Authority Score and the sources ChatGPT and Gemini cite when they name you.

Earned, recorded, and now measured in AI answers as well as rankings
- No paid link packages, no private blog networks, no link exchanges: nothing Google's spam policies describe or that we would be embarrassed to list in a report
- Every placement recorded with date, URL, anchor and status in a shared log, and re-checked monthly so a removed link is caught
- We test the buying prompts in ChatGPT and Gemini each month and report which sources they cite, so you see the mention turn into a recommendation
- Certified Google Partner agency, in business since 2017, with offices in Sydney, Hunters Hill and Adelaide
- SEO, Google Ads, AI search and web development under one roof, 100% in-house
- No lock-in contracts, month-to-month with 30 days' notice
- Monthly reporting on rankings, Maps visibility, calls, enquiries and AI visibility, in plain English
How we run a digital PR program
Authority and citation audit
Your backlink profile against the three competitors ahead of you, the sites and sources ChatGPT and Gemini cite when they answer your buyer prompts, and the supplier, partner and industry placements you are entitled to but do not have.
Story and target plan
The data you already hold that could become a story, the people in your business who can be quoted, the request services and journalists to watch, and the placements to ask for, agreed before outreach starts.
Assets and outreach
Data reports, expert bios and quote banks prepared, then requests answered, pitches sent and listings requested, tracked in a shared log with every pitch and reply.
Placement and verification
Coverage and links placed, checked for follow status, indexing and relevance, and re-checked monthly.
Report and iterate
A monthly report on placements earned, referring domains, Authority Score, the keyword movement that follows and the AI citations observed, with the next month's targets.
Three shortcuts that cost more than they save
Common in Australian digital PR and link building, and all three eventually cost the site more than they ever earned.
Paid link packages
"50 DA30 links for $200" is a private blog network with a price tag. Google's link spam policies describe it exactly, and a manual action takes the whole site down, not just the page.
Press releases sprayed at wires
A release syndicated to a hundred sites nobody reads earns nofollow duplicates and no coverage. A two-paragraph answer to a journalist who asked is worth more than all of them.
Fake reviews and paid mentions
Bought reviews are detected and removed, and AI assistants are increasingly explicit about sentiment sources. We earn reviews from real customers and mark any sponsored placement as sponsored.
Digital PR, answered
How much does digital PR cost?
Digital PR and link building are included in our Full SEO ($1,500 a month plus GST) and Competitive SEO ($2,800) retainers. As a standalone program it is quoted on the number and type of placements targeted each month, typically from $1,000 a month, with data-led campaigns scoped separately. Pricing is on our pricing page.
How is digital PR different from link building?
Link building is the wider discipline; digital PR is the part that earns coverage and mentions from publications, experts and industry sites through stories and commentary, rather than resource pages and broken-link replacement. We run both, and report them together, because AI assistants weigh the mention as much as the link.
Do you guarantee coverage?
No. Journalists decide what they cover. We guarantee the work: a monthly pitch and placement log you can read, placements re-checked, and the supplier, partner and industry listings that do not depend on a journalist saying yes.
Can digital PR get us recommended by ChatGPT?
It is one of the main levers. ChatGPT and Gemini verify a business against third-party sources before recommending it, and the prompt tests on this page show them citing partner listings and review platforms directly. Mentions on the sites they trust are how you become the safe recommendation.
What do you need from us?
Someone who can be quoted, access to the numbers that could become a story, and quick approval on quotes when a journalist is on deadline. Everything else we prepare.
How long before it shows in rankings?
Weeks to a few months for individual placements; the effect compounds as referring domains grow. KPark's Authority Score went from 11 to 27 over a retainer, with organic traffic up 87% over the same period.
