DMT has had a massive impact to our business. I have to admit I was sceptical because we had been burnt before with other marketing companies. Ivan and the team helped grow customers and followers rapidly over a 3 month period. 3,700 extra FB followers and more than 2,500 chatbot subscribers, which equates to about 12,000 newsletter subscribers. Easily doubled our sales in 3 months. Highly recommended.
Marketing for Osteopaths, When Part of the Job Is Explaining What You Do
Plenty of people aren't sure what an osteopath does. "What is an osteopath" gets about 1,300 searches a month, and "osteopath vs chiropractor" another 480. Before a clinic can win the booking, it often has to explain why it's the right choice at all.

My businesses Ayers House Events and Henry's Table have been using DMT for over a year now with fantastic results. Whether it is Facebook, Insta or creating general content such as photos and even websites, I can highly recommend this Tribe.
We engaged Digital Marketing Tribe for both Google Ads and SEO services, and the results have exceeded our expectations. Their expertise, professionalism, and attention to detail have significantly improved our online visibility. What sets them apart is their clear communication, transparency, and genuine commitment to helping their clients succeed. They take the time to understand the business, provide regular updates and explain complex, up to date digital marketing concepts.
With 3,325 registered osteopaths in 2022/23 according to the Osteopathy Board, this is a small profession. The search data suggests there is real demand for it by name, at difficulty scores a local clinic can work with.
Below, you will find the search figures we pulled for osteopathy and what we would do with them on each channel. We don't currently have an osteopathy client, so we're showing you that research and our closest health results instead.
What Australian osteopathy search data shows
Four patterns from Semrush's Australian database.
The head term is winnable
"Osteopath" gets 12,100 searches a month with a difficulty of 35. For comparison, "podiatrist" scores 67. That's a modest score for a term this size.
Patients shorten the name
"Osteo near me" gets 1,600 searches, on top of 3,600 for "osteopath near me". A site that never uses the short form leaves out how many people actually talk.
The explainer is a marketing page
"What is an osteopath" gets 1,300 searches and "osteopath vs chiropractor" 480, at difficulties of 39 and 19. Answering honestly can introduce people to your clinic while they're still choosing.
This snapshot shows room
In one national snapshot of "osteopath near me", the association's directory and HotDoc took two spots and clinic sites most of the rest. One ranking page has a 2020 date in its URL, and one is a UK site. It leans towards Melbourne, so your area will differ.
What each channel does for an unfamiliar profession
Each channel has its own page with the data behind it.
SEO for osteopaths
Local rankings, the short-form searches and explainer content your clinic can genuinely stand behind.
Google Ads for osteopaths
Local campaigns protected from the medical searches that "osteo" attracts.
Meta Ads for osteopaths
Short video that shows people what an osteopath does, then remarketing to bring them back.
The challenges osteopaths face
Most of these come from being the less familiar option in a crowded field.
Patients often don't know the difference
Physio, chiro, osteo and myotherapy can look alike to someone with a sore back. Your site has to explain what you do without running other professions down.
Treatment claims need evidence
Ahpra's rules prohibit misleading claims and unreasonable expectations of benefit. Claims about babies, migraines or broad health benefits need particular care.
Symptom searches are broad
"Back pain treatment" and "neck pain treatment" are searched less than "osteopath" and shared with every other profession, so they need careful targeting.
Medicare needs explaining
Osteopaths have their own chronic condition item, but the rebates for up to 5 services a calendar year (10 for eligible Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients) are shared across allied health. Patients often need that spelled out.
What we can show you today
We don't have an osteopathy result to show you. THEVA Remedial is our closest published result in hands-on care: a new remedial massage clinic that took 220 appointments in its first 90 days. Remedial massage isn't Ahpra-regulated, so for that side we point to Transform Orthodontic Care, an orthodontic practice whose work with us began during the pandemic: organic traffic up 178% within six months, and 403 Google Ads conversions at $22.03 each. We wouldn't forecast your results from either.

Research first, claims second
- Every recommendation comes with a dated number you can check
- Ahpra-aware copy, with treatment claims raised with you rather than quietly published
- The explainer content is written with your clinicians, so it sounds like your practice
- Results reported as booked appointments
- SEO, Google Ads and Meta Ads run together, so each channel knows what the others are learning
- Teams in Sydney and Adelaide, working with businesses across Australia

Osteopathy marketing, answered
Is it worth marketing osteopathy as its own thing, rather than "back pain"?
We think so. "Osteopath" gets 12,100 searches a month, so people do look for the profession by name. We haven't sized every back pain search, and we would keep some pages for those too.
Should we compare ourselves with chiropractors and physios?
You can explain differences factually, and "osteopath vs chiropractor" is worth answering. We would avoid claiming one profession is better, which is hard to prove and easy to get wrong under Ahpra's rules.
Do you already work with osteopaths?
Not currently. The closest related work on our site is THEVA Remedial, plus healthcare and orthodontics.
